Reale, Ph.D. has worked in the chemical industry for almost 45 years, initially as a research chemist. For the last 23 years he has been a consultant to the chemical industry specializing in the safe management of chemicals through their life cycles. Dr. Reale began his work in the fields of chemical regulation and product safety in 1980 and held increasingly responsible positions in the environmental and product safety departments of several major chemical companies before becoming an independent consultant to the chemical industry in 1989. He was also a founding partner of a training firm that provided broad training in chemical health and safety regulations. He is a regular guest lecturer/faculty member at professional conferences, speaking on hazard communication and environmental issues, and he enjoys international recognition for his achievements in the fields of chemical regulation and product safety.

He is co-author of Material Safety Data Sheets – The Writer’s Desk Reference, authored a chapter in Improving Safety in the Chemical Laboratory, and provided informative responses to questions for Compliance Magazine. He was a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Chemical Hazard Communication and a past chairman of its Program and Standards Review Committees. He belongs to the American Chemical Society and the National Fire Protection Association. Dr. Reale earned his doctoral and master’s degrees in organic chemistry from Fordham University, and a B.S. in chemistry from St. Peter’s College.
